This latest version is slightly larger than the first-generation GLC, with modified underpinnings that give the driver and up to four passengers more interior space. Although the GLC is not available in a 7-seater, there is ample room within the standard SUV for a full family and luggage too. All versions of the GLC-Class have four-wheel drive and are available as a petrol or diesel engine with mild-hybrid (MHEV) or plug-in hybrid (PHEV) technology. The entry-level edition of this SUV provides plenty of power, however, should you wish to quicken the pace, the GLC 300 petrol and the 300e PHEV pack a punch when it comes to acceleration speeds. The 300e PHEV has an instant power supply from the electric motor and releases an immediate power punch when you put the pedal to the metal. The interior of the Mercedes GLC has been designed to the highest standards. We always recommend the detachable swan neck towbar for those who have parking sensors as the detachable neck can be removed when towing has ended, meaning the parking sensors will not be affected by the towbar. If you don’t want to remove the towbar neck after towing the fixed swan neck is the perfect option. The thinner style neck means it is less likely to affect parking sensors. Will it need a bumper cut? The GLC models do require a small bumper cut to allow enough clearance for the towbar neck, however, this is located on the undertray of the vehicle and cannot be seen at eye line.
