There are two main towbar wiring options available: Universal Aftermarket Wiring and Dedicated Vehicle-Specific Wiring.

Universal aftermarket wiring is the lower-cost option but comes with compromises. Dedicated vehicle-specific wiring—also known as plug-in kits or dedicated wiring looms—is increasingly popular and represents the correct solution for modern Hyundai vehicles.

Vehicle-specific wiring integrates seamlessly with your Hyundai’s onboard systems, enabling built-in safety features such as Trailer Stability Control and automatically disabling parking sensors while towing.

Each wiring kit is designed specifically for the vehicle it is fitted to. Unlike universal wiring, which often requires soldering or Scotch Locks, dedicated kits connect directly to the vehicle’s systems exactly as intended by the manufacturer.
